Most frequent questions and answers

Most people are nervous to see a new counselor. It can be especially difficult if this is your first time seeking therapy or if you had been disappointed by previous experiences. So it may be helpful to know what to expect:

We will initially talk on the phone if you call me or if you scheduled online. I will answer any questions you may have about me or my work, and also ask you a few questions to assess if we may be a good fit. If be both agree we will set up an initial meeting.
I am very aware that the first session can be stressful and awkward, but I want you to  know that I will make it as relaxing and pleasant as possible. You can expect a casual conversation with me asking you questions and listening intently to your concerns. By the end of the first session I will share with you my observations and suggestions and we will look together at an anticipated plan and timetable. 

Typically clients come to see me once a week, but even this is something we can talk about. I strongly believe that psychotherapy is a collaborative process, so we will work together from the beginning, to insure that you benefit from the experience.

Once you are in the client portal, click on the CALENDAR ICON at the top of this page. Select a time from the open slots. Fill out the registration form to complete the process.  

All of our communication with clients is conducted through a secure CLIENT PORTAL. You need to register to get access to the portal, where you can schedule appointments, receive online counseling, or email a counselor without jeopardizing your privacy.  

  • Individual Counseling: $110 for 50 min

     

  • Online Counseling: $100 for 50 min

    Please note that certain restrictions apply to online counseling. Contact us to see if you qualify for this service.

  • Couples’ Counseling: $150 for 50 min

  • Classes: $20 per class – $160 for 8 classes
    Please contact us to find out about our upcoming classes. Certain restrictions apply to classes.
  • Family Counseling: $200 for 90 min

No, unfortunately we do not take insurance at this time. We can however provide you with a super bill, which is a detailed bill that you can present to your insurance. Not all insurance companies accept super bills, but some do, so please make sure to contact your insurance about this. 

We have a limited amount of scholarships available. Please contact us and we will give you access to the necessary forms to find out if you qualify for a lower rate.

It can be a little tricky to find so here are some directions for you:

We are right next to 24-hour Fitness. There are double glass doors with the street number “4145” displayed above it. PLEASE NOTE: It is not the Pacific University Entrance on Millikan, it is on the opposite side of the same building, overlooking the small parking area on Watson.

Best place to park is the free parking garage on Milikan, opposite of the food trucks. Take the garage elevator to the first floor and turn right when you exit the parking garage. You will see 24 hour fitness on the right. Walk past their entrance, facing Watson, to find the glass doors that will bring you to a foyer with an elevator.

Our office is on the 3rd floor. It is part of the Regus group, so you will first just see the REGUS sign and then you will see a sign for Life Solutions Counseling on the 3rd floor.

If you exit from the Max you will see a few restaurants including a red sign for Siam Lotus, a Thai restaurant. We can see Siam Lotus from our offices. So we are on the opposite side of the Max track and the small parking area on Watson. Our doors are next to 24 hour fitness, closer to Watson. You will see double glass doors with ‘4145” displayed above it.

Please e-mail or call me with as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We understand when there are unique circumstances, but in general a cancelation must be made 24 hours in advance to avoid full charges.

Office Hours for Life Solutions Counseling: 
Monday through Friday 9am-5pm (Pacific Time)

Clients wishing to use their insurance will be provided a Statement of Service (Superbill) which can be used to receive a reimbursement from your insurance company. Please note that the reimbursable amount is set by the insurance company and may not cover the full counseling fee. Please check with your insurance.

Mental health services are considered medical expenditures and funds stored in a Health Savings Account can be used to pay for services.

Accepted forms of payment include: Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
